this is a painting of a landscape. it is loosely based on the movie princess and the frog. I used paints and have dark colors in the front and lighter colors in the back. the bright colors are for detail. this was a wonderful painting to end on this year. The mood is set to be night time and the lili pads are out on the river. It is a landscape drawing mixed with the techniques used in the spooky trees. So the skill that i learned was combining all of the skills that i have learned all year into this one painting.

this is a painting that was based off of evyind Earle. The new technique that i learned was to pahyint the trees in the back a lighter color and as you get closer to the forground it is darker but still the same color. the back is a pastel color so that it makes the trees really pop. the dots repreent the texture of the moss on the trees. it is called spooky trees because they have a spooky apeal to them. by far my favorite painting yet!
This is my swirly Notan cutout. The colors are a Tiffany blue background with white swirls. It is asimetrical and is full of curves. It is non-narrative because there is no story behind it. This Notan cut out uses two colors with the cutouts. The background is white which is the opposite of black and then there is a color to make it pop which is a pink. To make this, I had to cut both squares at once and I kept reflecting the peices. It is simetrical but isn't a narrative. It is made up of all straight lines. This is my simetrical notion. It has curved lines with a theme. The theme is ballet. It has ballet pointe shoes and bows on it so it is figurative. The colors are baby pink and black. It has no strait lines. Each cut out is reflected onto the other side. This Notan is a narrative. It is supposed to be the Washington monument. The water is there and the actual monument with some bushes and clouds. It is figurative because of the figure. The colors are blue and black which are not related in the color wheel. The edges are half and half. Some of the edges are strait like the fountain and the building but the bushes and clouds are curved lines. It is simetrical because if you fold it in half, both sides look the same. this is a portrait of my friend. the medium is charcoal. I used the picture to help me to draw it in proportion. I also used shading. The new skill that i learned was to use the charcoal and to make it look realistic. the idea of this was to make it look like the person i was drawing and i believe that it does.
rubric 5 5 5 5 5 25 i believe that i did a way better job at this one than my pencil drawing and it looks great |
